Hawley Research

Ed Saulsbury of North Platte, Nebraska, and George Lahm of Callicoon, N. Y. both have the same idea on the Hawley, Pa. and the Sterling Companies. If we keep digging and researching maybe we can find positive proof in writing but right now their word is proof enough for me.

I may or may not have found something new. At least I have not seen or read about it. I got a box from N. Y. and in it was a Harloe keg, Hawley, Pa. On the front where the HICo is there are whittle marks and mold filling. Do you know what I mean? Anyway this was a poor job because you can see STERLING on the front and is fairly plain on the back. Right under PA. I had thought there was a link between these two company names and this is sure proof. I just thought to check the other Harloes and the CD 164 is also a blocked out mold with part of the letters showing. Have you ever heard of this before?

No, Ed, I have not, but it is interesting. Learn something new every day. I bet you have everyone checking their Harloes or Hawleys right now. P. S. I checked ours and we don't have any as you described but then we don't have many Hawleys either.
